Leading the Polynesian eyewear, everywhere
Brisbane couple Martin and Allies Coromandel knew the eyewear industry was a competitive market when they started researching design ideas. Allies came up with the idea of using Māori designs with pāua shell, drawing on their Māori heritage and upbringing as inspiration and a key point of difference. L.Eyes Eyewear was born, and the business cost the couple just $350 to start and sell on Facebook.
When sales dipped during the COVID pandemic, Martin took a Facebook Ads training course that helped the business pivot. “It’s taken us four years to get to where we are, and the sacrifices made in the beginning have given us a little freedom that we can now enjoy.”
